How to share a calendar on iPhone

Share an iCloud calendar with family or friends in a few taps, then keep it filled without typing.

Share an existing iCloud calendar

  1. Open the Calendar app and tap Calendars at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Tap the info button (ⓘ) next to the iCloud calendar you want to share.
  3. Tap Add Person, enter the person's name or email address, then tap Add.
  4. The person gets an invitation. Once they accept, they see the calendar on their devices.

Only iCloud calendars can be shared this way. If a calendar is under a Google or Exchange account, share it from that service instead.

How to create a shared calendar on iPhone

  1. In the Calendar app, tap Calendars, then Add Calendar.
  2. Choose the iCloud account, give the calendar a name such as "Family", pick a color and tap Done.
  3. Follow the steps above to add each person.

Let people view or edit

After you add someone, tap their name in the calendar's info screen. Turn Allow Editing on if they should add and change events, or off for view only.

Share a public, read-only calendar

In the calendar's info screen, turn on Public Calendar and tap Share Link. Anyone with the link can subscribe to a read-only copy. That suits a team schedule or club events.

Keep the shared calendar full

A shared calendar only helps if someone adds the events. Most family dates arrive on paper or in a message: a school flyer, a practice schedule, a party invite. Snap a photo or screenshot in Snap to Calendar, check the events it finds, choose the shared calendar, and save. Everyone on the calendar sees them.

Fill your shared calendar from a photo of the flyer.

Snap to Calendar turns a photo or screenshot into calendar events you review before saving. Your first 3 successful scans are free. No account, no sign-up.
