iPhone calendar spam: how to remove it
Odd events with links and warnings usually come from a calendar you subscribed to by tapping a pop-up. It is not a virus, and you can remove it.
Remove a spam calendar
- Open the Calendar app and tap one of the spam events.
- Tap Unsubscribe from this Calendar at the bottom, then confirm.
If that option isn't there
Go to Settings, Apps, Calendar, Calendar Accounts (on iOS 17 and earlier: Settings, Calendar, Accounts). Tap Subscribed Calendars, tap the calendar you don't recognize, and tap Delete Account.
Avoid it next time
- Don't tap links in the spam events.
- Close pop-ups that ask you to "subscribe" or "accept" a calendar unless you know the site.
- Keep iOS up to date.
Only add events you trust
With Snap to Calendar, nothing is subscribed and nothing is added until you approve it. Snap a photo or screenshot, review the events it finds, and save only the ones you want.
Only the events you approve. Snap them in.
Snap to Calendar turns a photo or screenshot into calendar events you review before saving. Your first 3 successful scans are free. No account, no sign-up.
